So you’ve decided to choose me as your marriage celebrant, thank you! We will need to meet in person to discuss the ceremony and the legal requirements for your marriage.
First meeting:
I will fill out a Notice of Intended Marriage form with you, this form must be lodged with me at least one month prior to the wedding ceremony or within eighteen months of the wedding date. See Legal Process for more details about what you need to bring.
We will discuss your ideas for your wedding ceremony including any readings, vows and poems. You can either design your own vows or I can give you examples. Then we can work together to design your ceremony.
I will answer any questions you have at this meeting and at any stage before your wedding.
Once you have paid a $100 non-refundable deposit you can lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage with me, and this will also secure your wedding date!
Subsequent meetings:
A rehearsal can be a good way to figure out the logistics of the ceremony, such as who stands where, when the music needs to be queued, the order of any readings. This is part of my standard fee, within 30km of Canberra’s CBD.
Either at the rehearsal, or at a meeting close to your wedding date we will need to sign the final legal documents.
Then it is time for your ceremony.
At any stage you can call or email me with any questions you have.
